Turkey outsells Spain!

For all you faithful Spain aficionados out there I’m afraid to say that your reign as the most popular summer destination has come to an end. According to The Co-operative Travel Group Turkey has replaced Spain as the top seller. Turkey has had an increase of 30% whereas Spain’s bestseller Majorca dropped sales of 13% from last year.

Why do you think this is? Is it purely the Euro affects or people traveling further a field?

this may be true but it could be that Spain is now full of Brit's and is just like home but with sun

Yeah I think it's the Euro + the Spanish attitude towards brits. The Turks just seem to be warmer and more welcoming, it's a pity is such a long flight.

Hi we're going to Turkey in september,to Marmaris just to see how it compares to Spain;went there last about 12 years ago to Alanya.Wondered if anyone has stayed at the Kaan apartments there. Also anyone tips on where to go for days out
