so where shall i try next?

My favourite place to go has to be benalmadena and of course, I will return again!
But we fancy trying somewhere new and I'm hoping someone can recommend a resort for us that has some nice bars, easy transport links and places nearby to visit.
We don't like long flights, so nowhere further than 3 hours.
Is there anybody out there who can suggest a new resort for us to try next year?
Thanks!
Sue

Try benidorm you can have it all quiet, busy, real spain, all within 30 min bus ride
the beaches are cleaned every day we usually stay in levate then you can have a laugh at night in the many bars/ clubs, you can watch comediens, singers, tribute bands you name it you can see it in Benidorm

good luck B Dave

Three hours is very restricting. How about just a bit longer. My favourite place is also Benalmadena but last year I went to Tenerife and stayed in Los Christianos. Very similar beach walks and terrain. Loads of stuff to see, nice bars and a short taxi ride to Playa de Las Americas if you like all night stuff and you will get some sleep if you need it. A cheap coach ride will get you to the best dolphin show I've ever, ever seen (Loro Parque). Another must do is the summit of Mount Teidi, the highest peak (and volcano) in Spanish territory.

I absolutely adore Puerto Pollensa in Majorca, quiet but the bus service is fantastic for surrounding areas, some nice shoe shops as well...try the Sis Pines though you have to book this thru Globespan, sorry Alfie ...

ooops dorothy!
forgot to mention the places I've already been and Puerto Pollensa is one. You're right though. It is a lovely place. Thanks for your swift reply.

Have you tried Malaysia? The new city of Putrajaya is magnificent. Kuala Lumpur is, as always a wonderful place to see. The Chinese quarter is a real eyeopener with many bargains when looking for souvenirs and Susie's corner is THE place for the best steaks I have ever eaten. Plus, of course the fact that everywhere is so much cheaper than Europe. You can catch a train to Malacca, an old Chinese town and well worth a visit, also Singapore is not so far for a longer trip out of Malaysia. It has great shopping and good food on the banks of the river.

Oh, sorry, I have just noticed that you don't want a long flight. My mistake - still, if you do want to venture further afield at some future date, my comments on Malaysia still hold good.

Hi
We have been to Lanzarote, Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise. We enjoyed both resorts. Costa Teguise centre is more compact and a quieter than PDC but lovely restaurants annd nice bars. PDC is livelier and bigger.
Hope this info helps
Claire.

Hi Sue

You have to go to Santorini, it's one of the Greek Islands and about 3 and half hours flight from London. It's beautiful, plenty of tavernas and restaurants. If you stay at the Boathouse Hotel in Kamari, the owner of the hotel, Spyros, is quite likely to come and collect you from the airport. Kamari is lively, bustly without being rowdy. Checkout the reports on Boathouse Hotel I don't think there has ever been a bad review. Family run small hotel, pool bar will stay open until the last person retires. It's great.
