Puerto Rico

Anyone travelling to Puerto Rico on Gran Canaria around Christmas and looking for a 2 week travel package from a Tour Operator, especially from Ireland, will by now be used to being told that the holiday they are looking for is only available for 7 nights and not the usual 13/14 nights that people like to go for.

It appears the reason for this is because the tour operators get more money for two separate 7 night holidays than they can get for a 13/14 night holiday. While this may seem okay for the tour operator, it is certainly an underhanded way to treat clients. Anyone else experience this problem?

Permalink Reply by Ailsa Gleeson on 29 May 2008 at 10:16pm: Have you tried a DIY approach?We've been going with Budget for years but found that others put together their own package and it worked out cheaper,too.There are several airlines doing a flight only deal and lots of websites with places to rent.Buy and Sell is a great source of holiday lets or try "Villarenters.com","Ownersdirect.com"or "Holidaylets.com"-all good sites.Also,Alpharooms have great deals(had to get that in!)In March,3 of us went to Tenerife for 2 weeks,flying with Aerlingus from Cork and it cost less than e1000,that's flights and accomodation for all 3.We,ve alredy booked for next year and were slightly peeved to find that it's costing us e150 more-oh well can't have everything!!!Best of luck,anyway,love Puerto Rico but not the hills!!!!!; ▶ Reply to This
